REMEMBER THESE???

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING!! IT'S BEAUTIFUL HERE IN MICHIGAN..SUN'S OUT..TEMPS DOWN..WINDOWS OPEN..WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR! I WAS CLEANING AND REARRANGING MY SEWING/WOOL ROOM (AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME SINCE OCTOBER) AND CAME ACROSS THESE "CAT'S MEOW" VILLAGES...REMEMBER THEM FROM THE 90'S?? I ONLY BOUGHT A FEW...IN HOPES OF BECOMING RICH WHEN I DECIDED TO SELL THEM 20 YEARS LATER...LOL!! WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS JUST A TEEN ALWAYS SAID WHEN SHE WAS OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE A HOUSE...SHE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THEM...NOW...SHE'S OLD ENOUGH & HAS A HOUSE AND DOESN'T WANT THEM.....HOW RUDE!!! OH WELL...I JUST THOUGHT THEY WOULD SPARK A MEMORY FOR SOME..THE COLLECTOR'S ERA OF THE LATE 80'S AND 90'S!! HAVE A WONDERFUL SUNDAY!

  1. I remember those! I have 2 one is a little schoolhouse-it's cracked, got it at a yard sale and the other is one of Pittsburgh. They're both just sitting on top of the door trim-one going into the hall and the other on the outside of my bedroom door...because I don't know what else to do with them! thanks for the memory jog :)

  2. I have almost all the same ones that you do - plus more. I think that I had the same thought that I'd collect them and they'd be worth money someday. Although one of two of them I would hang on to. One being the Dearborn Inn where I had my wedding reception. I have them lining the doorways in my craft room. I'll probably never get rid of any of them now.

And the weather is so great compared to what it was. We could use a little less rain. I think we got about 6 inches here in the past few days.

  3. I do remember those! I never collected them but I knew some people who did. Thanks for your comments on my blog about my flowers Bobbie. I'm still not a gardener! lol Have a blast at Sauder. Sure wish I could go. Hugs, Lori

  4. Bobbie ~
I think we all have something we collected in the 80's or 90's that we thought would help us in retirement...yeah, right! How funny about your daughter!!!
    See you on Friday :)

  5. I have some too! Some my Mom gave me because she didn't want them anylonger, other I bought because I thought they would look cool in my son's room, and then (just the other day!) I found a stack of them in a box of junk I purchased at an auction for a dollar or two! lol

I still think they are neat & they are sitting next door in my studio... with plans to hand above the door & window trim! Heck, maybe if we all keep holding onto them they will because valuable... you know in about 50 more years! lol

  7. I never collected those, but I do get church ones for a friend who collects churches. I have seen bags of them in our consignments.

  10. Gee, I bought them because I liked them! And cats! And I seem to collect clutter! Never thought about the collectible aspect! A good thing! I have them over several doorways. One of my favorite groups is the buildings of my university...a reminder of a beautiful campus that I rarely get to see! I would love to find some at a yard sale...maybe I should go to a few!
