A few pictures to offer today. I've been selling some of my primitives and going for a little lighter look. We have a lot of painting to do in this old house.....but again....where do I find the time ( and I'm retired)?
I'm getting ready to paint the kitchen and this dark wall has GOT to go....it's not as dark as the picture ...but I still want to do a very light grey...
My new sign that will do for now. I had to cover up some huge holes in the wall. The wood piece behind the sign, is an old piece from a barn.
My porch....I did some cleaning last week...I don't know how we manage to get a porch so messy!
And then the yard....my husband is out there every evening for over an hour, watering. Once a week we weed...when it's not too hot that is....The colors on some of the flowers are beginning to fade...the bee balm was just gorgeous this year and full of bees!
I've been trying to keep up with my stitching..I have four WIPS going on and it's making me nuts! I usually don't start one project until I'm done with one...but there are just so many things I want to stitch...not too mention a hooked rug that I have been working on...
Have a great week and as always, thank you for reading my ramblings and I appreciate your comments!
Very pretty back yard and porch. I have about four WIPS too, plus 2 hooking projects. I like being able to rotate the WIPS because 2 are larger samplers on small count linen. I need to take a break sometimes. I also have 2 smaller projects going and I enjoy seeing the finish close on those and really work to get one done so I can start another. I always enjoy your posts, as I live in Indiana now but was raised in Michigan, where my heart will always be.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks wonderful and lighter walls will look nice with the new look.
ReplyDeleteWould love to have a porch like that, would be nice to sit out without having to worry about bird poo all over everything, lol.

Oh ow I wish I had a covered porch...yours looks so wonderful. I went to the Blue Water Bridge for lunch today...only 5 minutes from where I work in Port Huron. It was nice being by the river meets Lake Huron. Janice
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that most folks get busier when they retire! lol! Love your porch and your gardens! We've been lightening the color pallet in our home as well. I think it's a lot more relaxing.

Hi Bobbie! I’ve been away for awhile but refound your site! You have been making some lovely things these days and your flowers in your yard are just beautiful!! In Florida, we have been stuck for mihpnths with unrelenting heat, humidity, and thunderstorms every day. I am so ready for Fall and a break from the hot!!
ReplyDeleteHave you been thinking about some new projects for Fall?
I love your gardens! I keep tweaking my gardens trying to make them look peaceful and inviting but something just isn’t clicking! LOL! Could be that I don’t really know much about gardening and how to arrange plants and flowers so,they flow, nicely! Love your vignettes! Thanks for sharing!
