LONG POST...GRAB A CUPPA..

Whew...well, after three months of trying to get my Apple account up and running...again.....I finally was able to re-enable my account.  It was hacked into last May..thank you Target for hiring dishonest people to work and steal credit card information...I can finally post pictures on my blog....it's been a very busy few weeks with the Homestead show in Holly, and then trying to clean, purge and organize my house.  I haven't done a lick of stitching, except for some wool applique by Rebekah Smith.

Here are some pictures of our booth in Holly...Sally Beauman & I share a booth along with fellow hooker Pat.....I can honestly say this was the second best show we have ever had.  The crowd was down just a tad from the March show, but people were eager to spend money for this show!  The three of us have a good vibe, because we tend to gravitate to similar items to sell....none of us are real primitive "purists"...we just buy what we like, and for the most part are more into the American Country style...Colonial...Early American...not sure where we fit....

I could kick myself ten times over for not purchasing this little drop leaf table...my husband kept asking..."where will you put it" until my ears were ready to bleed!!!!  So I passed on it...then, of course, after it sold...I knew EXACTLY where I would have put it.....UGH!!

This little early 1800's tavern table was sold before the show started....or I should say traded....you'll see for what further down in the pics.....I stitched samplers and made pillows and runners from an old 1840's coverlet, that was full of tears, and holes...I love the colors in them.

My good buddy, Sally, makes the most adorable picushions out of old boxes.  She applique's the tops and they are just beautiful!

Ok...so I came upon this vintage bucket bench two weeks before the show for a good price...my friend Pat loved it and I loved her tavern table (I'd been wanting one for years but they are out of my price range) so we traded, plus I purchased one of her early, sweet end tables.

Now, of course, I have to get a new sofa....or get my camel back reupholstered...This tavern table was once Sally's table...she sold it to Pat a couple of years ago....and now I got it from Pat....keeping it in the family!

One other item I purchased is this beautiful 1800s painted box.  I just love the character and traces of design on it.

Last, but least...my extent of fall decorations...I just have too many other things I would like to do besides dig out totes full of fall decor only to put it back in a few weeks, so I just decided to go with a few faux flowers and greenery and a couple of miniature pumpkins...good enough!  The wool applique piece, is a Rebekah L Smith original .  I purchased it from her at Sauder this past August and I love it!

Thanks for hanging with me...I hope you're all having a wonderful fall season, even though its been stinking hot and humid....I've got a busy month in October coming up...but I'm really looking forward to it!  Have a great week and thank you for reading my blog!

  3. Nice pieces and trading is always a great deal. Looks like a really nice show and your box is a treasure. I don't decorate for fall except for outdoor mums. I refuse to acknowledge the loss of summer with decorations!!
