Another Mother's day has come and gone. The weather here in Michigan was absolutely terrible...I think the temps went to 42 with rain ALL DAY!! I swear...May is getting to be more like March and April! Anyway...I hope you all had a good day. We didn't do much.....our plans kind of changed at the last minute..but that's ok...I had plenty of time to sit and stitch in the after noon. My wonderful husband surprised me with this beautiful bouquet of roses with hydrangeas
We went and visited my mom, who turned 89 a couple of weeks ago. Then my middle son, Nathan, and his daughter came to visit as well. Karsyn is our oldest grandchild and I can't believe she is driving....boo-hoo!!!
My hair is atrocious!! I haven't been to the hair salon in months...but Wednesday, mom and I are both going!!
I made this wreath for my mom....at 89, she still loves handmade items and she loves Americana! I followed Priscilla Blain's tutorial on youtube (Priscilla & Chelsea). She has the best, easiest, and most inexpensive way to make things.
I am participating in the Blackbird Design SAL on instagram...so this week I stitched up a drum with the design "Hats Off To Uncle Sam". It was the first drum pincushion I've ever made and it wasn't too bad!
It's far from perfect, but I'm pretty pleased with it!
Well...that's it for this week. Have a wonderful week & keep your fingers & toes crossed that it warms up just a bit...I have a porch full of plants and flowers just waiting to go into the ground!
Beautiful picture with your mom. She sure doesn't look her age!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful little drum pincushion. I love anything patriotic.
One of these days I need to figure out Instagram...or get a lesson...lol!
Yesterday was miserable, but we did need the rain. Thankfully the forecast is looking promising.
Thank you Lauren! My mom was so active up until a couple of years ago when she fell while gardening and broke two vertebrae in her lower back...so now, she suffers with back pain and really can't do the things she dearly loved, but I'm proud that she is healthly enough to live alone and does most things herself...just no gardening! IG is pretty easy....not much drama...just lots of pictures!! Take care!!
DeleteThe patriotic wreath is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day and was able to visit with your mom when you did. Wonderful pic of you and your family! My sister, brother and I took my mom to lunch in here town in the Thumb and the weather there was cloudy. Back home it was rainy and we have had frost the past 2 evenings. UGH Love your patriotic drum! Janice
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, & love that wreath.
ReplyDeleteI have also stitched that drum, it's too cute.
I hope it warms up too, too many cold nights yet to plant.
