I haven't picked up a hook or a piece of wool in over two months. I have been trying to stitch this sampler, Lizzy Dunn, by Linda Gillon of PRimitive Things. It is such a nice "small" sampler and easy stitching...but there are just not enough hours in the day to sit and stitch. By the time I get home from work, make dinner, pick up the house a litte, I am lucky to get even an hour of stitching time. I get so frustrated (or maybe envious?) when I see progress that other stitchers have made or hooked rugs that others have hooked..I don't think I am that slow...I just think it is a time issue. Oh well...I am determined to get this sampler done, framed and hung on the wall before I start anything else. Have a wonderful evening...I'm stitching!

Gosh, I hear your frustration about time. I'm in the middle of my "vacation" but we've just moved, so I see so much that still needs to be done. Then when August comes...I'll still be off...but I need to set up the classroom. It leaves little time for the real life...hooking, stitching, spinning. I am staying sane just thinking that a little bit at a time adds up! And it does!

ReplyDeleteOh, I hear you. When I see what others accomplish I am downright jealous. Maybe if we didn't need to sleep...sigh.
The sampler is lovely. Keep us posted on your progress
Pug hugs :)

Don't get frustrated. Sounds like your life is full and that's good! A little time here and there is still making progress, and it's a lovely sampler. I love that pincushion - how sweet.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the last time I hooked, it has been so long. I have too many projects going on at once, no time for hooking lately.

Lookin' good, Bobbie!!! I hear you about the time thing... and the envy thing... there are always so many good projects to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteI am jealous seeing your beautiful sampler. I have had the itch to stitch, but just haven't found the time for it. Trying to get ready for the show in the Fall, and the hooking is taking most of my time. I have to see how many pieces I have so far, so I can move on to some punching and stitching. There are so many beautiful samplers and I am envisioning them on my wall.... someday!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how the day is over before you blink anymore? I am really looking forward to seeing your piece finished, framed and hung on the wall :)
Good morning Bobbie...Perhaps one should never rush an enjoyable project? A stitch or two, or pulling through a bit of wool on a favourite project might be best savoured, slowly enjoyed...rather like a favourite book.
ReplyDeleteI shall look forward to a photograph (or two) of your finishes. Your handmades shall be lovely surely.
Wishing you a splendid day!
Warmly,
Judy
Enjoy your life--and stitching will be there when you can get to it. Beautiful WIP!
ReplyDeleteHi Bobbie,
ReplyDeleteI can so relate to how you are feeling! I hope you can just enjoy those small little "stitching moments" and savor the work you are doing...one stitch at a time!! The sampler looks wonderful and it will be a pleasure to see it when you get it finished!
Happy Stitching and Persevering~~
Julie
Bobbie I know what you mean cause I am the same way. I have an hour drive home and don't feel like doing anything alot of times when I get home.
ReplyDeleteYour Sampler is very nice.
Wonderful cool weather this morning in Michigan
for us.
I feel the same way you do! I like to crochet, quilt, knit, and cross stitch. Throw in a book from the library, and I could kill time for hours. No wonder I don't get much done!
