So needless to say....it
So....moving that into the living room, meant I had to change some other things around...this big boy went into our kitchen, but will be moving into my sewing room to hold wool:
These are some of my finds that will be going to Holly in September...We must have shopped at 7 or 8 antique shops...some had really good buys, and some had really nice things to either buy for yourself or drool over....
On Thursday, I met my good buddy Melissa in Archbold OH for the annual Rug Hooking Week event at Sauder Village. It was another amazing year with so many artists being featured.
This artist is Sarah Bechler that is from my area. Sarah was the gal who first sparked my interest in rug hooking and applique. She is amazing!
This display was from another rug hooker, & I thought I had taken a picture of her name & where she was from, but sadly, I did not...but her pieces were amazing as well....as you can see, she won the highest honor at Sauder.
This was an antique rug, that I fell in love with....actually...I fell in love with ALL the antique rugs...
I love this one..I can just imagine a young wife sprucing up her early home with a welcoming rug such as this:
Take a gander at this garment...all made from wool with the most beautiful purse to match!
My one big splurge....I love Rebekah Smith's folk art...she is such a wonderful artist! She was teaching and vending at Sauder this year...in addition to selling her patterns and all kinds of stitching accessories...she had a few finished items and this was one of them....I loved it the minute I saw it!!
Well....after all my goings and comings...this week will probably seem a little dull....but I am busy getting things in order for the Early Homestead Show on Sept 7 in Holly. I have stitched 9 samplers...all freehand and my own designs...it was fun but I'm ready to get back to stitching some of my usual things...I did manage to stitch this sampler for our little grand daughter who turned one yesterday:
I do love that hanging cupboard you purchased. It's been many years since I've been to the Buggy Seat.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry I was not able to meet up with you at Sauder this year. It was a great show!
Love that wall cupboard!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful stitched pieces.

We bought a red hanging camp many years ago from the same folks. Loved all of their early furniture. Some great goodies for the show. Will make sure I stopped by your booth to visit. Hope you can do dinner with us. See you soon! Janice
ReplyDeleteExtreme talent at Sauder !! Wow.
ReplyDeleteLove your hanging cabinet ♥️

What a perfect cupboard for that spot. Even the wood color matches nicely! Great find.
