STITCHING, HOOKING & A TOUR...

I've been stitching like crazy person getting ready for the Early Homestead show in Holly Michigan.  It's not until September, but it'll be here before you know it!

I'm not stitching anything pretty....just prim and grungy.  I've stitched eight samplers in just a few weeks and will be framing them in frames that are from the late 1800's to the early 1900's.  I've been hoarding collecting antique frames for years...always with the idea I would stitch these types of samplers...I am using some really rough, linen...I have no idea what it is, but it dyes and bakes really well.    I am free-hand stitching with no design in mind, but I do have a motif book that has been very inspiring.  It's been fun!

And look at this hooked rug designed and hooked by my friend Deb....we took a class with Donna Hrkmann two years ago.  She specialized in portrait hooking and is phenomenal!!  These are Deb's two grandsons working on their laptop...She will be displaying this at Sauder this month.

And then there is this beauty...by another fellow Holly Hooker, Bonnie...I love this sheep design!!  Take note of the cotton balls....

The whole face is just beautiful!

Now for a little tour of my friend Pat's house.  Every Wednesday the Holly Hookers meet...we take turns sharing our homes...and always have such a wonderful time!!  So this is Pat's house and gardens...

Her home was built in 1905, and is just gorgeous!  A gargoyle stands guard!

Such wonderful days spent with wonderful friends!!!  Have a safe and blessed week!
