AT LEAST I CAN GET OUT OF COOKING....

Yep....too hot to cook....my AC isn't the greatest in this house..but I have it on full blast, along with three fans, the shades pulled and me in my moo-moo..remember the "moo-moo"?  Most comfortable garment I've ever owned!!

Last Saturday, my friend Melissa, hosted a Rebekah L Smith wool applique class.  Three of my friends and I went and had a great time!  It was nice to see Melissa, Rebekah,  and Lauren.  And the projects were so much fun....I finished my Sunflower Wall Pocket last evening.  It was a fun and quick project and I just love the colors.  There were two other projects to choose from as well.

I am doing a Christmas cross stitch design, that is designed with our last name, in the shape of a Christmas tree....I don't know the name of the designer...and we ordered ours from the Craft Gallery in Findlay OH but they are beautiful!  I only have five to stitch (UGH)....I wish our last name wasn't so darn long...but when I start them..I'll post a picture.  They are just gorgeous....stitched on sparkly, white 14 count Aida with this floss:

Only the green....it is hand dyed and the most beautiful hand dyed floss I've ever seen.  The variegation is just stunning and it looks even prettier when stitched. The brand is Threadworx...it feels like silk even though it's cotton ..  I had to order it.

Now...onto hooking...I haven't hooked in like forever...but fellow Holly Hills hooker , Pat...just finished this gorgeous log cabin rug.  A design by the late Linda Brannock.  I believe Pat purchased this from Wooley Woolens Janice Johnson.  It's a BIG rug...so beautiful!  Pat is a quilter, but does hook occasionally....I love her background!

This sky looked so beautifully, scarey the other evening...but would you believe not one drop of rain came??  Not one!!

Hope you are all staying cool and comfy in this heat...me?  You'll find me sitting in front of a fan in my moo-moo!  Have a fun and creative week!

  2. Aren't you too young to remember muumuus???? Still being sold though and the best clothing item for hot days and after showers. They are the closest I've ever come to Hawaii.

  7. Yes....it is insanely hot here too...98 today with heat index of 112. And this is central jersey...hotter in south jersey as well as philadelphia area. Yikes! Your new cross stitch project sounds divine! Looking forward to seeing the progress! The designer will probably be getting a lot of orders after you show us yours! :-) Those threads LOOK soft....I can only imagine how they feel.

  8. Hi Bobbie,
I had a flashback to kindergarten and wearing a muumuu my aunt made me! I was so proud of it and told everyone and proceeded to be made fun of the whole day!!! They "mooed" at me and called me a cow!!! I cried and told my mother I was NEVER wearing it again, and sadly, I didn't!!! I sure would wear one now though, and not care AT ALL!!! lol Love your RLS piece and sounds like you had a lovely time with friends!! That rug was just hooked by one of my friends here in AZ and I fell in love with it!! Wonderful job by your friend!!! We are hot here, too, and THANK GOD each day for Mr. AC!! Hoping things cool off for you soon!!
Take care and enjoy that muumuu!!!

  9. Yes, those flosses are just scrumptious. I’m looking forward to seeing some progress. What a beautiful hooked rug. Maybe one day I’ll add that craft to my list of skills too 😂. Happy stitching, Judy
