I'M BACK...LIKE A BAD PENNY

Yep...thought I would post on my blog today...afterall...it's only been five months.  UGH!  Busy but not that busy...lazy, yep real lazy...what have I been up to...hmmm...lots and lots of stitching & online shopping.  This pandemic has not slowed down my shopping one bit.   In fact, I think I've bought more cross stitch designs, fabric, and threads than I would normally buy. I dearly miss going to the needlework shops, especially the Craft Gallery in Findlay OH.  My very favorite!  They opened their doors on Tuesday, so I'm hoping to go sometime in the near future.

First of all....I have been stitching my fingers off...I've completed three samplers, three pinkeeps, and two primitively stitched samplers (to sell).  I've also crocheted a baby blanket (for our new little grand daughter) and have made some face masks.

This is an antique sampler that I purchased from a local antique mall back in the fall.  I couldn't believe the price....$4.95!  I had it framed from a local framer and I love this antique frame.

I finished these little samplers back in January.  Both very fun and easy to stitch.  The red sampler is from BBD and the smaller sampler from LHN.

Next, is Jane Stanwix's Sampler, 1843.  A reproduction sampler purchased from the Country Sampler in Spring Green Wisconsin.  This had a lot of colors, but it was also a fun stitch.

This a Dear Daughter from BBD.  I made it for my daughter for MOther's day, but was unable to get it framed in time.  Both Jane Stanwix and this sampler, are on route to Virginia to get framed.

Last evening, I put the final stitch in Our Hearts, by Brenda Gervais.  It is an anniversary sampler...I loved every single stitch in this design.  The colors were so beautiful!  This will be next to be framed.

A pincushion design from Lori Brechlin, Kind Words.  This was a fun stitch and a quick project.  Of course, I cut the fabric too close so I had to improvise with antique indigo fabric.  Lori is have a wonderful sale on her patterns on Etsy...

I love this little pincushion!  I'm not really into bright colors...but I loved the little bird on this one!  The design is from Luminous Fiberarts.

This is a primitive sampler, that I just stitched without a pattern and an "uncounted" cross stitch piece.  I sell these at the Holly show, but have sold a few on FB.  They're more for the primitive at heart!

Lastly....a baby blanket that I crocheted this week for our new arrival, Catherine Jeanne.  We haven't been able to see her in person yet, because my son and his wife live in South Carolina.  She is our 13th grandchild..so we are super excited to go down, hopefully in the near future to meet her!!

Well...sorry for all the pictures, but I've been wanting to post for a long time, and just didn't have the gumption (?) to do it...so here it is.  Next post, I'm going to post pictures of my newly redesigned sewing/craft room.  Hopefully, it won't take me another five months!!

Take care, be safe, stay home as much as possible!!

  4. Thirteen? Congratulations! Can't believe your $4.95 score, and you sure have accomplished a lot in a few months.

I'm wondering if this convenience of ordering so many items online will continue and close some stores. Sure is nice to get those deliveries.

  5. That antique sampler was the deal of the decade!!! Beautiful in that antique frame. I'm loving all your cross stitch finishes.
Please tell me about framing in Virginia. I have so many things needing framed but the last time I had something custom framed (and it wasn't a piece of needlework) the price was outrageous.
Catherine Joan is a doll. I hope you get to meet her in person soon.
Looking forward to seeing your sewing craft room redo. Please don't make us wait another 5 months...lol!
