HOLY TOLEDO!!!

....nothing like buying a vintage Toledo Scale, thinking it would look good someplace specific and then finding out it's too big...UGH!!  Although I didn't spend a lot of money on it....I was still disappointed....so I put it in the corner.  It looks ok, but I had dreams of it being on my island.  I'm trying to use vintage in my kitchen and trying to stay away from the Made in China stuff...in other words...I'm going to attempt to "Un-Hobby Lobby" my kitchen...well at least try to the best I can...(pay no attention to the Farm Fresh chicken tray...it's Grandfather'd).  My problem is...they have so many cute and great things, all at a great price...it's hard not to buy!!

My husband bought this tea for me a couple of weeks ago...stress relief tea...it tastes pretty good and it's caffeine free...it's not as good as drinking a glass of wine...but it'll do...

I love antique crocks with faux flowers...yes....they were probably made in China...but I bought them a year ago...so they're excluded from my ban....

I haven't stitched in so long, I don't even remember what I was even stitching on.  I haven't watched YouTube in a couple of weeks & I've been trying to stay off of FB...but it's really hard.    Tomorrow, we're having some friends over for dinner...first time in a long time...so we are really looking forward to it.

Have a great weekend...stay safe and mask-up!!

  2. That is a wonderful old scale and a beautiful piece to decorate with.
I like my caffeine, but I could use some stress relief, lol.

  3. I am also trying to ban anything from China. It is much more difficult that I ever imagined.

  6. Looks like the perfect spot for the scale to me! :-) Love the tile on the wall and backsplash. And love the toile runner under the crock too! It all looks so light and fresh! Enjoy it all every day!

  7. Your Toledo scale looks good in the corner even though it was not your first choice. I always use faux flowers and greens with our kitties. Hope your dinner was a nice one! Janice
