HOT AS...WELL...YOU KNOW..

Ugh..another day of upper 80's and humid.  I really enjoyed the cooler temps we had last week.  I can't imagine how the folks feel to the west of us with record breaking temperatures & those heartbreaking fires...prayers for all of them and the firefighters!!

Yesterday, my husband and I went on a little excursion antique-ing (is that even a word??)..  Williamston Antiques had their annual outdoor antique show, and then everything in the store was 20% off.  They were really great about counting how many people were in the store...only 55 at a time, so I had to wait a few minutes before I could go in.   We were given clothes pins (there were 55 clothes pins). So when people came out, they knew exactly how many were in the mall.

Anyway....because I seem to be so obsessed with copper, one of the boothes had several copper pieces that I had seen a few weeks before...so I waited.  My copper collection is complete!

Then I found this little straggler in another shop that was half off...its very worn, but that's what I love about it...it has character!!

Then we went to Mason, MI.... Maple Street Antique Mall, and I found this sweet French Market Basket on wooden wheels for a deal...so of course it came home with me! We had a really nice day.  It was just fun getting out and hunting for some bargains!!!

OH...I almost forgot...we did suvive an earthquake Friday evening!!  It registered 3.4 on the Richter Scale.  It sounded like a jet was either taking off or landing.  My friend said "you can't hear and earthquake"...but....wrong!!  You CAN hear and earthquake about a second or two before you feel it...its the S waves and the P waves...(I looked it up to prove I'm not crazy)..it's the part of the vault that it sliding against the other part of the rock.  It's a weird sound...but luckly, no cracks in the house, especially not in my kitchen!!!

So after that excitement...I decided to make big pot of spaghetti sauce...some for us and some for my daughter's family.  It was so good!!  Next year, I'm going to grow my own tomatoes....I haven't had a decent tomato (from the store) all summer!!!  My neighbor brought some from her yard and they were delicious!!

Well...that's it folks....I'm so excited to be getting together with a couple of friends this week!  It's been too long!  My friend, Deb, is a wonderful rughooker and an instructor...so being able to hook with her is like attending a workshop!!  Have a wonderful week...stay safe and mask up!!

  1. Wonderful new old treasures.
MANY years ago I bought my corner cupboard at Williamston Antiques.
Yesterday at Seville Antiques they had what they were calling a "trunk show" with dealers set up outside. I thought they would be crazy busy with people eager to do something normal. Surprisingly it was not busy at all. Sad really.
    Enjoy hooking with friends!!!

    1. I wnat to go to Seville Antiques one of these days! The outside show was not busy either. In fact, there really weren't that many dealers. I didn't buy anything from the outside. I love your corner cupboard! I've been seeing lots of "feather edge" china!!

  4. We had an earthquake? Guess I missed that one. I have felt a few though here in Michigan. Once my desk phone shook a bit at work. Your copper collection is a fine one and so love that market basket. Very nice! Janice
