BRRR.....IT'S A COLD SUNDAY!

It's so cold here in Michigan, but I fear it's not the worst we'll see this winter. It's been a really strange winter with zero snow....I'm like Loralai Gilmore (Gilmore Girls)...I love snow!!!!  I feel cozy & warm inside when I see those big white flakes floating from the sky....such a beauty of nature...

I've had my husband painting over dark walls...again....poor guy...this is my kitchen wall...before...

I loved it 10 years ago...because I was into the primitive look with darker colors...but it has had it's time.....this is the now....

He didn't paint the whole kitchen, because we're really hoping to get a total kitchen remodel in the fall...but we'll see....like everything else...it's going to cost a boatload...so we've been saving...but with walls being knocked out....new cupboards...new flooring...UGH!!  I do have my plans drawn out and a goal list completed....but I think I need Chip and Joanna!!!

I love my little cow!!  She's a plastic beauty from the 50's!  I kept some of my winter-like decorations up.  It just helps to keep the house a little cozier during these blah winter months....

I think my whole house is turning into a ceramic barn yard!  Roosters I found at the Salvation Army!

An old scrub box that I bought at an estate sale for $5....I dolled it up a bit with a wintery mix...

More wintery greenery....and my sweet Nicole Sayre Angel...

A new ladder from Hobby Lobby with some warm throws...

My living room....keeping it warm...I still have one Arnett Santa out...but he's dressed in blue & is holding a lantern...so we're good...

I'll be super busy this week....we're hosting our monthly neighbor get together on Saturday evening...about 7 couples coming to our home.  We do this once a month, eveyone takes turns hosting.  I can't begin to epress how wonderful it's been!  To get to know people who have been living two, three, fours doors down has been so much fun! And of course...they are all super nice and friendly.   My husband and I are the oldster's of the group, but the rest aren't far behind!

Have a great week and again, thank you for reading and commenting on my blog!!

I desperately need to repaint, but not sure when that will happen.

  2. KLove your Winter look. I kept my one tree up and did it in paper snowmen and mittens. Still love the white light for those dreary January nights. No snow is odd for us..so wonder if we will have any or get a huge storm. Janice

  4. The new look is wonderful, really opens up the room. I see you have a hole in the wall too, but yours is more practical, ours is high up, so no use, just a big hole in the wall, so ours is coming down too. We will do it ourselves though, a sledge hammer and a new island, can't be that hard, lol.
