Well...what can I say....I have finally went over the ledge....the Stitch Maynia ledge. Yep....I decided this year to get started on some of my sampler patterns that have sat in my cabinet for way to long. So....I gathered seven of them up, dug up the linen, and pulled the appropriate threads. Now...traditionally, Stitch Maynia means either 31 starts ( a new start every day in May) or the number of starts matching with the year...so this year it would be 19 starts (for 2019)...but I'm only doing my seven...that's all I can handle...I'm mostly a monogomous stitcher...so we'll see how this goes. Here's my maynia tote:
Here's my projects lined up...I have no idea which one I will start first
Most of the designs are from Black Bird Designs...I'm using hand dyed linens that I either purchased or have coffee/tea dyed myself.
As you can see...I've got my work cut out for me...but I just love it!! Below is one I have been working on for a couple of days. It's on 36 count, Oaken using one thread over two. It's new for me and I am struggling just a bit, but I would love to stitch on a higher count so I am determined!
We're heading off to Charleston this coming week to do some baby sitting for our littlest grandchild, Josephine...So excited to see her & her sister Alexandra... and my son & daughter-in-law too (of course :D ).... Have a great week!!
Looks like a bunch of great projects you have lined up.
ReplyDeleteLove your selections.
That little Grandbaby is so cute. :)

I think even seven starts is ambitious! I absolutely LOVE Louise Ulmer. Is that a BBD design? In a booklet or just a chart? I am so out of the cross stitch loop but am going back to a reproduction sampler started over 25 years ago. Talk about a UFO!!!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels to Charleston. Josephine sure is a cutie ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Lauren..Yes...it's in their new release "Ooh la la". The book is full of French samplers that are stitched in mostly one color...They are all gorgeous!
DeleteGood luck on your stitcheries. Who is the designer of the Iowa Sampler. Would love to get my hands on that one. Have fun in Charleston with your granddaughter. She is a cutie. Travel safe. Janice
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects--don't give up on stitching on the higher count linen--just take it one stitch at a time
ReplyDeleteJosephine has a wonderful smile! it must run in the family..Walnut Iowa is calling to me...
ReplyDeleteYou have picked some super pieces to start and work on during Maynia. Have a fabulous trip to see Josephine and her sister.

Hi Bobbie,
ReplyDeleteYou certainly are jumping in with both feet, but I'm sure you will accomplish your goal! Love all of your choices and especially the first one!! I keep telling myself I need to get back to cross stitch, but it just hasn't happened yet!! One day, I hope!! Your grand baby is just adorable!!!
Happy Stitching, my friend!
Heart Hugs~
