HOLIDAY HOOPLA

I am both excited and relieved that this Saturday is the Early Homestead Christmas show in Holly.  My good pal, Sally and I have been working our fingers to the bone in preparation!  When my friend Dawn, asked me what I thought about her doing a Christmas show in December less than two months ago....I was all in!  Making Christmas stuff is my jam...I love it!  Here are some pictures of what I've made...don't mind the house...

I made 22 cotton batting Santas this year....some on sleds, some coming out of chimneys, and some that will just hang on the tree. I love making these little guys...a lot of work...but so much fun!

All packed and ready to roll...well...almost...I still have some antiques in the basement I have to bring up and pack...but most of the hard work is done....it doesn't look like much...but we had to ask for a little bigger booth!

The old school, the new venue for the Holly shows, are in the old high school that was built in 1913.  A wonderful couple, purchased it last year, and have been renovating it...making it into a conference center and ballroom.  It will be amazing when completed!  The show will be in the gym and Dawn and Dick have it decked out to the max!

I'll post pictures after the show....I know everyone's booth will be beautiful...all celebrating the Christmas season!  Have a safe and wonderful weekend!

  1. That's a lot of work! Wonderful work! Please remember to take lots of photos.

Renovating a school is a huge undertaking, but a great idea.

    1. Thank you Marly for your kind comment. Yes...it is a huge undertaking, but this couple (the wife had her own show on HGTV a few years back) have purchased so many "blighted" buildings in Holly over the past three years and have totally gutted and remodeled...they are not only beautiful, but they restored them to what would be their historic glory!
