IT'S HAPPENING!!

Yay!!!  Monday...a long awaited day....my kitchen & dining area are being gutted...walls coming down, soffet coming down....floors being ripped up....sounds like a war going on in the house....but I'm excited!!!  The two guys working are younger than any of my children....but then of course, my children are not that young anymore...

I took these pictures last evening...a little sad because all of this will be gone...so many memories.  When we bought this house in 1988, I thought I had died and went to heaven with the kitchen...three times the size of our original house (our old house was 925 sq. ft total).  Too small for a family of seven...so this kitchen served us well...but as with most kitchens...it was outdated and I wanted a larger eating area when the family comes over.  As it is now...part sit in the kitchen, part sit in the dining area and then part sits on the couch...

It's funny...this pass through or "serving area" as we called it...was the part of the house that sold me..I loved it...but...it'll be removed and the space will be open..

The wall on the right will be removed as well so the eating area will extend to the wall on the left.  And the horrible, horrible flooring will be replaced with hard wood.  We'll have to get a new back door...I forgot about that...

And now this.....I'm ready!  I packed and donated so many things over the past two weeks....the Salvation Army hit the jackpot! 

So....I'll be doing a lot of yard work and stitching in the meantime.  They said it'll take around six weeks for completion...so we're hoping!  Have a wonderful week and take care!!
