THIS PILGRIM IS READY TO JUMP SHIP.....

Well...so much for the Coming to America project that I had hoped would be about half way finished by this time....UGH!  I have completely lost my stitchy bug, my hooking bug, and ambition bug!!  If you look closely at the little Pilgrim...you can spot my needle just missing his jugular (a subconcious manuever, I believe).

I put it back in the box & am giving it a big timeout.  I have messed up so many times, I'm surprised the linen hasn't declared mutiny!  I then tried stitching on a small Halloween ornament for my granddaughter...it has not kept my interest in the least.  Then I decided to delve into crocheting a shoulder wrap for my DIL for her birthday...OMGosh!!!!  That's been a disaster!  I think I need to lock myself into my sewing room and concentrate on one project at a time!  And I feel so restless...not sure why...but I just can't seem to focus.....

We did spent a beautiful weekend at our friends' cottage near Traverse City last weekend...the colors were gorgeous!

We went to a town near Torch Lake...Alden MI.  Sadly, most of the small shops had "For Sale" signs in their windows...such a crying shame and so different from the last time we were up there....but...I did manage to score this antique French work table from one of the shops that were still open.  It was exactly what I had been looking for.  I needed something with a little height and length for the one wall I have left in the kitchen.  (don't mind the kitty dishes underneath)..

I've been finding these demijohn wine bottles, wrapped in wicker here and there..still at good cheap prices...the tall one is Greek from 1947, per the label.

My sweet friend, Phyllis, is under the conception that I cook dinner every night...so she gave me this sweet sign.....

but then....there's this....I should have bought it for my daughter...LOL!!

Anyway...since today is the 1st...and I've literally done nothing, except get a manicure...I've decided to follow my buddy Lauren, Rugs & Pugs, and make out a to-do project list for the month of October...oh wait...who am I kidding?????  I'll be lucky if I get one thing done!   But it's worth a try...I have about four things I would love to finish over the next four or five weeks....so wish me luck!  Maybe I'll even be brave enough to list them on my blog!  Take care...have a great week....safe stay!!

  3. So sorry your mojo has left the house! Hopefully soon it will find its way back. Try the list...it just may help motivate you.
I do love that French work table and you have the perfect spot. Those demijohn bottles are so cool. It's not something I've ever noticed before.
    Beautiful fall pictures.

  4. Hi Bobbie,
So sorry you are feeling unmotivated!!! You always make such beautiful things, so hoping it returns soon!!! Your pictures brought back so many memories for me as you were in my old stomping grounds!! I lived in Central Lake during my high school years and loved that area so much, especially in the summer and fall!!! Torch Lake is just GORGEOUS and I sure do miss all the fall colors!! Happy you found that wonderful table and bottles!!!
Take care and maybe the list will help!!!

  5. Good luck on your list. I have so much to get done for the opening of our Christmas at the gift shop and not much time left. The clock is ticking. So sorry you lost your ambition to work on things. Yes it is a shame stores are closing. Great score on your table. Janice
